Chris and Megan Curren in Glancer

Chris and Megan Curren bring decades of hospitality experience to their debut concept The Graceful Ordinary, an upscale American restaurant situated on the Fox River in downtown St. Charles.

A graduate of the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, Chris launched his culinary career in 2002 working in kitchens throughout the Cleveland area alongside acclaimed Chef Bruce Kalman and at the celebrated contemporary American restaurant Three Birds.

After relocating to Chicago, he opened critically renowned fine dining concept Blue 13 where he served as executive chef/owner before moving on to helm the kitchens of some of the city's premier hospitality collectives and independent concepts.

Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Megan entered the hospitality industry in 2004 after moving to the city. Over the ensuing years, she would hold numerous positions at nightlife concepts within Bonhomme Hospitality Group (Beatnix, Beatnix on the River, Celeste, DISCO) along with time spent handling weddings and social events for Entertainment Cruises.

The two met through mutual friends in 2010, eventually relocating to the Fox River Valley where they would pursue their longtime goal of opening a restaurant together with the debut of The Graceful Ordinary in 2021.

With Chris serving as executive chef/owner and Megan as event sales manager, the stunning riverfront concept provides the community with a welcoming space to gather and socialize while enjoying an elevated, yet approachable menu of refined rustic cuisine.

When they're not at the restaurant, the Current enjoy spending time with their kids as a family.
